This is the center of the old town of Safranbolu. A step back into the past with small well kept streets between traditional, mainly timbered houses in the Ottoman style. The Izzet Mehmet Pasa Mosque and a 17th-century Hamam provide a focal point to the center, amid the brightly coloured buildings. A castle on the hill provides a lovely vista of the town.
